What is this website for?

This website aims to provide scripturally sound guidance and insights into the conduct, practices, and behavior of householders or upāsakā/upāsikā (plural).

Contrary to popular belief, Buddhists are expected to act a certain way and do certain things. It is not a free-for-all where we can do whatever we want. Through the work in this website, we hope that we can provide Buddhists with sufficient knowledge to discern what is right, proper, and appropriate.

While claims will be substantiated with references to the suttas and, when applicable, the appropriate commentaries, the rest of the work as presented will most likely be provided by fellow householders as well unless otherwise specified.
